I’ve been in web development for a good number of years, 3 years in a senior role. While I was back in London I was development manager at Landau Reece and I had the opportunity to interview a few developers with the company owners. It never really occurred to me that I should test the prospective employee’s with a programmers test until now.
Thailand is a great place, albeit with a few problems of its own (mostly within the political arena). That aside there is a large skills divide between Thailand and the UK, and its never been so apparent until now. I think I just made the assumption that people would be reasonably skillful no matter what country you are from, but thats rather naive of me.
Hence, how do I test someone appropriately?
