Recently I’ve re-found IRC. Don’t know what it is? It stands for “Internet Relay Chat” - but you can go read more about IRC at Wikipedia.
The last time I was on IRC, was when I was back at University ten years ago - and things haven’t changed too much either. Still the same old IRC types online.
You still have the smart arses, the idiots, the helpful, and the scarcastic but helpful if you ask a concise and grammatically correct question (yep, it gets like that…).
Anyway, I’ve found freenode.net network in particular to be a very good source of help and knowledge. So if you’re so inclined to try, download an IRC client such as mIRC (for Windows) and drop by. Where do I hang out? Checkout these channels: ##php, #javascript, #prototype, #xajax, #mysql and #html
